We have the technology to accurately create captions for classes that contain complex equations and symbols, such as college level Calculus III. Having access to realtime CART allows students to participate in class in a way they may not have felt comfortable before for various reasons. Customized CART Services
TotalCaption allows you to customize your CART services to the student’s needs. We accomplish this by being able to provide both onsite and remote captions, and by allowing the student to display these captions on their preferred device, like a laptop, tablet, or phone. By allowing the CART Captioner to be either remote or onsite, students have the ability to choose what option suits their needs best, ensuring their individual comfort. Students are also able to display captions on devices that are easy to carry and are discreet in the classroom. Transcription of the captions can also be provided electronically after class ends, which can be useful for students to assist with note-taking and studying in the future.

Students using CART services, either onsite or remote, can be mainstreamed into the traditional school setting where learning is afforded to every student, not only students without challenges. TotalCaption works closely with school administrators and disability service departments to demonstrate the technological advancements and the ease with which a student with hearing loss can engage academically to achieve success in his/her field of endeavor. Under the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), schools are committed to provide accommodations for students with disabilities. TotalCaption is there to display the full text of every spoken word in every class attended by a student with hearing loss.
Accurate Captions When It Matters Most
Because CART Providers are transitioned Court Reporters, we are expert at grammar, syntax and proofreading. Our strict code of CART protocol dictates that we will never change verbiage to create a more grammatically correct sentence structure. We believe the student should be reading the words that were actually spoken. This ensures the accuracy of the captions the student receives.
